Hey, pros!

In this article, we are going to go over the ins and outs of Client Tagging.

You can sort, filter, and categorize your client list using tags based on whatever groups you'd like to set up, such as high performance, weight loss, or hypertension. Tags will allow you to categorize your clients and see a more relevant list when you log in to Heads Up.

If you have any questions throughout this process, please reach out to our support team here, or use the little blue circle with the white smiling message icon in the lower right corner of the app, and we'd be happy to help.

Note: The Heads Up team must enable this feature for this process to work as expected. Please reach out to our team or your Heads Up sales rep directly for more information on activating this feature.

The Written How-to

Adding the Tags Column to the Client Page

Head over to the Clients page. The first thing we are going to do is add the Tags column to the clients table. Click the client attributes drop-down found in the top right just outside the table, select System, and click the box to the left of Tags:

You can now see the Tags column on the clients table. Remember you can drag the columns left and right to organize the table to your liking:

Adding Tags to Multiple Clients

On the far left of the clients table, you will notice unchecked checkboxes. To add Tags to multiple clients at one time, select the check box next to the client you'd like to add a tag to. Once the check box is clicked, you will see a new field appear at the top of the clients table. Ensure the first drop-down is set to Add Tag. You can now select or create a tag using the input field to type or the drop-down arrow to select an existing tag:

The Performance tag is now added to our selected clients:

Next, let's add the new tag to all of our clients:

Sorting Clients by Tags

Let's sort our clients by our newly created tag. Just above the Clients table, find the drop-down titled Filter by client or tag. Click the drop-down and select the new tag:

You can also sort Tags by selecting the tag you'd like to sort by in the Tags column. You will notice that any tag you choose from the column will be added to the filter at the top, and all Clients without exact matching tags will be excluded from the list:

Adding Tags to Individual Clients

In this section, we will show you how to add a tag to one client at a time. To add a tag to your client first, open the Clients Profile page by clicking on their first, last name, or icon.

On the Clients Profile page, click Add Tag located to the far right to open the Manage Tags popup:

You can create new tags from the Manage Tags popup by typing the new tag name into the input field and clicking Add. Or, you can add an existing tag to the client by using the drop-down arrow inside the input field:

You can now see the newly added tag on the Clients Profile page:

Note: The tags will be added to a tag drop-down, depending on your screen size.

Deleting Tags from Clients

Removing tags is very similar to adding tags. The easiest way to remove a tag is to head over to the Clients Profile page you'd like to remove a tag from and click the X located to the right of the tag name:

Another option is to delete them from the Manage Tags popup. On the Clients Profile page, click Add Tag located to the far right to open the Manage Tags popup. From there, you will see all the tags associated with that client. Click the tiny X to the right of the name to delete the tag and then press Submit to save:
